What is d924?

Most likely d924 has no significance to the majority of people looking at this Webb page so I suppose it would be wise to give a little background on this. The d stands for the Old Testament book of Daniel and the 924 stands for the 9th chapter 24th verse. I don't think too many of you will have this verse memorized so let me write it down here so you will have some idea of what I am talking about.

"Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place." (Daniel 9:24)

This is the verse that this Webb page, blog, school and whatever else will be connected to this site originated from. It is very special to me. One day while reading this verse it occurred to me that God spoke about a whole lot more here than just "seventy weeks." Normally whenever anyone talks about this verse the entire focus is on the countdown to the Messiah as these weeks are referred to in verses 24 - 26.

"So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks;" (Daniel 9:25a)

"Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off" (Daniel 9:26a)

If you add seven to the the number sixty-two it equals sixty-nine, one week short of seventy. From there we usually spend an enormous amount of time explaining how these numbers take us to the time that Messiah Jesus would be crucified. This leaves us one week short of the seventy weeks, which is usually explained that this last week will be the seven year tribulation period. I do not disagree with this at all but I would like to draw your attention to a most significant part of Daniel 9:24 that seems to have been lost in all the concern with the seventy weeks. There are six crucial pieces of information concerning the plan of God revealed here. They are:

  1. Finish the transgression
  2. Make an end of sin
  3. Make atonement for iniquity
  4. Bring in everlasting righteousness
  5. Seal up vision and prophecy
  6. Anoint the most holy place

The six things listed here make up the plan of God for our world. Unfortunately, as we have focused all our attention on the countdown to Messiah we have missed the essence of what God is doing with our world. It would certainly be nice to wake up every morning knowing what the purpose for us being here and how you fit in to what God is doing. You may or may not have ever wondered about this but I can pretty well guarantee that if you knew the answer it would greatly alter the course of your life. Here is my guarantee: If it doesn't you have my full support to stop reading my blog. How is that for an unconditional guarantee! And there will be no questions asked.

If you are interested in any of this then tune in to this blog from time to time. It will take awhile to work through these six pieces of the plan of God but I think it will be well worth it for you. After all I will be talking about the plan of God, which I know you have no idea about because if you did most likely you would already be writing your own blog or at least a book on the subject. By the way, I have already written a book on this very subject titled, "CONSTRUCTING THE PUZZLE OF GOD'S PLAN." You can purchase a copy on Amazon if you wish or just visit my blog periodically and get some of the information for free. if you click on the book title it will take you to Amazon where you can order a copy. You can also read the book if you click on the tab "writings" on the home page. At this moment only the chapter titles are listed but we hope to have the whole book available soon.

FTWHE (for those who have ears) is our podcast. At the moment it is in its development stage. Our plans are to have the books and any other writings in audio files. We also are working on a round table discussion of the book chapters of CONSTRUCTING THE PUZZLE OF THE PLAN OF GOD. I will keep you informed of any new additions to the FTWHE. Thanks Shad for the great Van Gogh picture.

That's it for now.

See you soon
